I never grew up in the church and was an atheist. My parents divorced when I was 3 years old, which caused my father to see me only on the weekends. When I was a teenager, my sister was a drug dealer and I started using pot at around 12 years old. I rebelled against my mother and everyone who loved me. I grew up fast and starting going down a path of destruction for myself and all that was around me. When I was 15, I was involved in a fight and, to make a long story short, had to go to rehab. I went to a church while I was there to just get out of the rehab, but something was different about this church. I could feel the love that the people had for each other, and the love that they had for me. At this time, I said the sinner’s prayer while I was at church, but at this time It did not sink in. Once I got out from rehab, I started hanging out with the same old friends and started using drugs again. My sister’s wedding changed my attitude when I got drunk and pushed my mom down which resulted in her breaking some ribs. I then knew at that moment that I was broken and needing help, I turned myself into the same rehab, but this time I wanted to change. During this time, a Christian barber who was not supposed to cut my hair came anyways and started cutting my hair while I was in rehab. He started explaining the scriptures to me and I knew it to be the truth. A light shined through my soul and for the first time, I felt a peace that I cannot explain even to this day. I then went back to church and made another commitment to Jesus Christ. This time it was He who made the call and changed my heart. I went back to my hometown after rehab, and got rid of all my friends, and the Lord supplied me with new friends. I went to all that I could and preached the Word to them. The Lord is my everything because he took me from nothing and loved me. If the Lord can reach me, he can reach anyone. I was an atheist, but the Lord gave me faith to believe in Him. Praise the Lord!!!
